The first reissue of Charles Barkley’s fan-favorite Air Max2 CB 94 in its 2000s-era Black/Varsity Royal colorway is almost here.
After news of a rerelease first surfaced in November, official e-commerce images of the upcoming pair have arrived, courtesy of Foot Locker. The first-look shots reveal that the colorway has been faithfully re-created from its 2004 iteration, right down to the specific color placements and details.
The shoe is built with a tumbled leather Varsity Royal base that’s supported by a black nubuck structure throughout the upper. The design also retains its metallic ventilation cutouts and features the same tonal black Nike Air heel branding seen on the ’04 original.
Other signature details seen on the Air Max2 CB 94 include its jagged, toothy midsole design, heel Air Max unit and supportive elastic straps on the tongue. Despite being a beloved design feature, the aforementioned support straps have notoriously contributed to the sneaker having a snugger-than-expected fit and some wearers have even gone as far as to cut the elastic to allow for more room.

While this Black/Varsity Royal colorway is beloved by many fans, it wasn’t actually an original colorway of the 1994 sneaker and instead made its first appearance during the model’s 10th anniversary reissue in ’04. The colorway has yet to resurface in the decades since, but that will change next month.
The Air Max2 CB 94 was Barkley’s second signature sneaker following the Air Force Max CB and has gone on to become his most popular model. Along with the upcoming Varsity Royal release, the sneaker returned this year in its Triple Black colorway and was also released in a three-sneaker Nike SB collaboration with Supreme.
Nike’s Air Max2 CB 94 Black/Varsity Royal will be released Aug. 14 from Nike’s Snkrs app and select Nike Sportswear retailers including Foot Locker. The sneaker’s style code is IX4182-010 and it’s set to retail for $160.

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
